Find your routine.

Not sure of your hair type, or which shampoo suits it? This free hair type quiz asks six quick questions about your hair's texture, condition and colour, how often you heat-style, and how hard your water is. At the end you get a three-step routine from the milk_shake range we stock, with no email needed.

What's your natural hair texture?

How would you describe your hair right now?

What does your hair need most?

Is your colour coming from a salon or a bottle?

How often do you heat-style?

How hard is the water where you live?

We tailor your routine to your local water. UK water hardness varies massively by region.

Your matched routine

Your routine is ready.

Based on your answers, here's a 3-step routine matched from the Milk_shake range. Use it for 8 weeks, then come back and tell us how it went.

Your Personalised Routine

This routine is matched to your answers, so treat it as a suggestion rather than an answer about your hair. If your scalp is sore or flaking, or you are losing hair, speak to a doctor or pharmacist first. Patch test anything new where the label says to.

Questions answered

Common questions about the quiz

Is this actually personalised, or does everyone get the same thing?
Personalised. Your answers pick one of seven milk_shake lines (Curl Passion, Moisture & More, Colour Care, Silver Shine, Icy Blonde, Integrity, or a healthy-hair routine), then add or swap a product for heat styling, hard water, fine hair or dry ends. Your routine shows on screen; the email is optional.
What if the recommendation isn't right for me?
Return any unused product within 30 days for a full refund. If a product has caused you a problem, tell us and we will help. Or send us your question, and a photo once we reply, and a qualified hairdresser writes you a routine within 24 hours.
