Curls & Waves
Curls behave differently from straight hair, and most high-street shampoo is built for straight hair.
Strong detergents strip the natural oils curls depend on for slip and pattern, and stripped curls frizz, drop out and start behaving like hair that has had a bad day.
The milkshake (milk_shake) Curl Passion line is built the other way round.
The conditioner and leave-in are light enough to define the curl without weighing it flat.
Whipped Cream Leave-in Foam is the one to reach for if your curls are looser or your hair is fine, because it is a foam rather than a cream.
If you are new to this: soak the hair properly before shampoo goes near it, shampoo the scalp only, detangle in the shower with conditioner still in, and dry with a cotton t-shirt rather than a towel.
Those four habits change more than any product does.
About this collection
Curls are not one hair type. A loose wave that drops by lunchtime and a tight coil that drinks product are different problems, and the same bottle rarely solves both.
The Milkshake Curl Passion range is built for definition without crunch: a gentle cleanse, a conditioner with enough slip to detangle without pulling the pattern out, and a leave-in that holds shape through the day. Curly and wavy hair also tends to run drier, because the bend in the strand makes it harder for natural oils to travel down the length.
Start with the leave-in if you only change one thing. It is the product that makes the biggest visible difference to definition on day one, and the one clients come back for.
